Manayunk Businesses, Residents Fear More Flooding: Report
After Monday's rain, the Schuylkill River has risen considerably, causing residents and businesses in Manayunk to fear flooding in the area.

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA – Residents and businesses in the Manayunk area are on edge even after Monday's rains subsided, as the Schuylkill River continues to pose a flooding threat.
According to the National Weather Service the river crested at nearly 11 feet Monday night and predicts the waters will recede back to less than nine feet by Thursday.
In 2014, the river crested at 13.91 feet, according to the National Weather Service.

Action News reports a block of Kelly drive between Ferry Road and Midvale Avenue Monday night, but a vehicle smashed through the road block, forcing police to remain on scene to prevent vehicles from going through dangerous standing water.
"If the street floods it impacts everybody," Manayunk Development Corporation President Brendan McGrew told Action News. "It's not just that single business that's impacted we're such a small, local community."

Residents of the Isle Apartments were forced to move their cars to higher ground Monday evening due to rising waters, the outlet reports.
