Manayunk Residents Evacuated Due To Schuylkill Flooding
Numerous residents in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia had to be evacuated from their residences due to the river flooding Tuesday.
MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — Numerous residents in Manayunk were evacuated from their residences Tuesday as the Schuylkill River's level went well above flood levels.
Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Adam Thiel said fire crews and members of the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management were out in the neighborhood Tuesday evening evacuating residents.
According to Action News, Apex Manayunk apartment residents were evacuated and the Philadelphia Police Marine Unit was on scene to make any rescues.

The river crested at 13.28 feet Tuesday at about 11 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, which has a river height gauge at near the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The National Weather Service predicted the river would crest above 15 feet. As of 8 a.m. Wednesday, the river was at 11.98 feet, still above flood levels.
