Manayunk Stairs Day Set For October 10

Manayunk is planning a day next month to celebrate the area’s staircases.

Manayunk Stairs Day, set for October 10, is meant to emphasize Manayunk’s 15 public staircases.

According to the announcement on DesignPhiladelphia.org:

This one-day event will use temporary lighting, maps/tours, signage and performances to activate the Manayunk Stairs from morning till dark. Our goals: put the staircases back onto the map, encourage their creative and practical uses and help build a movement to permanently place lighting systems on some or all of the staircases.
