PennDOT Begins Repair of Nine Miles of Ridge Avenue
The street surface experienced heavy damage from snow and road salt during the winter.

Road crews contracted by PennDOT have started working on repairing and resurfacing Ridge Avenue between Northwestern Avenue and 33rd Street in Philadelphia this week.
The pavement improvement project began on Wednesday with milling Ridge Avenue starting at Northwestern Avenue and moving south toward 33rd Street. Weeknight lane closures will run from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Next week, crews will begin adjusting utility manholes on weekdays between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. New ADA accessible curb ramps will also be installed at 44 intersections. Paving operations on are expected to start in mid-April.
James J. Anderson Construction Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the $4,265,519 resurfacing project that is financed with 100 percent state funds from Act 89. All work is expected be completed by late September.
