A man engaged in a two-hour standoff against police in a West Philadelphia home Tuesday morning has been taken into custody, according to NBC-10.

The suspect, reportedly armed with an AK-47 rifle, barricaded himself in a home on the 4700 block of Melon Street, just south of Fairmount Avenue, shortly after 6 a.m. when police responded to a 911 call that reported screams coming from the house. His mother and grandmother were also in the house, possibly as hostages, police told reporters.
