Week Ahead: Limited Parking, Vacation Bible Schools Start

It's a slow week events-wise as people gear up and get ready for the Fourth of July week and weekend, but here are some of this week's highlights.

Limited Parking: There will be limited parking at the Upper Valley Green Parking Lot on Valley Green Road in Wissahickon Valley Park will be limited beginning Monday, June 24, due to preliminary project work by the Friends of the Wissahickon.  The parking lot will close on July 1.

Vacation Bible School: St. Timothy's Church will hold it's vacation bible school starting Monday and running through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  The program is free and open to children ages four-13.

More Vacation Bible School: Leverington Presbyterian will also be hosting its vacation bible school starting on Monday.  Their program runs from Monday to Friday from 6-8 p.m.  To register, email Jenn Pearson who is serving as the Coordinator for VBS, you email her at jdjpearson@aol.com.

Family Gardening: There will be a workshop in Manayunk for anyone who wanted to make their first foray into urban gardening.  On Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., experts will teach locals how to start their own berry patch.  The workshop will be held at 4324 Main St.
