A three-part discussion series about the highly praised book, Letting Go. The book presents insight, comfort, and guidance for families making the emotional and social transition from high school to college. The discussions take place on three Tuesdays and will be facilitated by Dr. Christy Clapper, a recently-retired Quaker Valley School District school counselor, as well as Kate Weiss, manager of the Penguin Bookshop.
Based on real-life experience and recommended by colleges and universities around the country, Letting Go has been updated and revised, offering even more compassionate, practical, and up-to-the-minute information for the family. The discussion series engages a variety of topics that help parents navigate the new dynamics of their child’s college experience.
Letting Go is available for purchase at the Penguin Bookstore and on loan at the Sewickley Public Library. Those interested in attending any or all of the discussions are encouraged to read the first seven chapters of this highly-readable book prior to the Oct. 9 gathering.
