Touch-A-Truck Event Teams Up With Trucks for Maddox
The second annual event gives kids, and kids at heart, the chance to get up close and personal with a variety of vehicles. Plus, other weekend events.

Organizers of the second annual Touch-A-Truck on Saturday are planning an even bigger event this year.Â
"This year is larger," said Rich Guerrieri, president of the Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire Department.
Visitors—both big and small—will have another opportunity to get up close and personal with more than 40 vehicles from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 on the grounds of the Watson Institute, located at 301 Camp Meeting Road in Leet.

Presented by the Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire Department, the event is teaming up this year with "Trucks For Maddox," a charity started in memory of 2-year-old Maddox Derkosh, who was fatally mauled last year after falling into an African Painted Dogs exhibit at the Pittsburgh Zoo. Â
Families are asked to bring one toy truck as a donation and, in return, will receive one free admission.Â
