Blotter: Vehicle Egged, Suspected Heroin Found at Accident Scene

Brock Road Resident Reports Her Vehicle Was Egged
July 17: A resident from the 200 Blk. of Brock Rd. reported that sometime during the night someone egged her vehicle while it was parked on the street in front of the home.
Sedegwood Road Resident Reports Red Skateboard Theft
July 17: A resident from the 200 Blk. of Sedegwood Rd. reported that sometime  between 1300 hrs. and the time of the report someone stole his red colored skateboard from the front lawn of the home. The item is valued at $120.
Police: Suspected Heroin Found After 3-Vehicle Accident
July 18: Springfield Police responded to a three vehicle accident at S. State Rd. and Collins Dr. Patrolman Nicholas Paytas arrived and the investigation showed no one was injured in the accident. Further investigation showed that a 27-year-old Norwood man was under the influence of a controlled substance. The vehicle was searched and a quantity of suspected Heroin was found in the vehicle. The man was taken to Springfield Hospital, had blood drawn, and was then transported to the Springfield Police Station. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence Of Alcohol Or A Controlled Substance, Violations Of The Health & Safety Act, and numerous Motor Vehicle Violations. The incident is under investigation by Detective Robert Nutley.
Lewis Road Resident Reports Theft of Walkway Lights
July 18: A resident from the 200 Blk. of Lewis rd. reported that sometime during the night someone stole four solar powered walkway lights from the front of his home.
Schuyler Road Resident Reports Stolen Bike
July 18: A resident from the Unit Blk. of Schuyler Rd. reported that sometime over the last few days someone stole a blue colored GT Match One boy’s bike from the front porch of the home. The bike had been left unsecured on the porch.
Andrew Road Resident Reports LED Candle Theft
July 18: A resident from the 600 Blk. of Andrew Rd. reported that sometime during the night someone stole two ornamental LED candles from the front porch of the home.
Macy’s Security: Man Steals $1,379 Worth of Merchandise
July 18: Security reported that they had a male in custody for retail theft at the store. Patrolman Kai DiRemigio responded and took a 58-year-old Philadelphia man into custody and transported him to the Springfield Police Station. He was charged with Retail Theft and Receiving Stolen Property for taking $1,379. worth of merchandise from the store. Detective Robert Nutley is handling the investigation.
