Burglary, Catalytic Converter Thefts, More: Springfield Crime Blotter

Police said Hondas parked on North Hillcrest Road, Wayne Avenue, and Taylor Road had catalytic converters stolen between Oct. 6 and Oct. 7.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued the weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Oct. 5 and Oct. 7.

Oct. 5 at 4:49 a.m.
While on patrol, Ofc. Kennedy observed a running vehicle parked behind a business on the 600 block of Baltimore Pike and flashlights shining in a secure dumpster area. Three adult subjects from Havertown, Clifton Heights, and Philadelphia were identified and claimed to be dumpster diving. All will be charged with Trespassing.

Oct. 5 at 8:25 a.m.
Ofc. Bergman observed a moped vehicle park in the lot of the CVS, 300 block of Baltimore Pike, and observed the operator enter the business. He then observed another male get on the vehicle and attempt to start it. The male was unsuccessful and entered the CVS where he stole approximately $50 worth of merchandise. The male, 45, of Drexel Hill, was taken into custody and later released. Charges for Theft and Retail Theft will be filed.

Oct. 5 at 1:40 p.m.
A business owner from the 600 block of South Chester Road reported that sometime overnight Oct. 2 someone entered the business and removed cash from a register. Det. Cutcliff is investigating.

Oct. 7 at 1:43 a.m.
A 17-year-old female was observed urinating on the property of Old Central School 100 block of Saxer Avenue and was accompanied by an 18-year-old female and 17-year-old male all from Springfield. All three were found to have been drinking alcoholic beverages and in possession of alcoholic beverages. The three were released to their parents, and charges for UAD, Disorderly Conduct and Curfew will be filed.

Oct. 7 at 2:24 p.m.
Three vehicles had their catalytic converters stolen sometime overnight on the 100 block of North Hillcrest Road, 100 block of Wayne Avenue, and the 200 block of Taylor Road. All vehicles were Honda vehicles.

Oct. 7 at 3:18 p.m.
A 43-year-old male from New Castle, Delaware, will be charged with Harassment and Criminal Trespass after tormenting a female acquaintance throughout the day at the Parkway Inn. He was taken into custody and later released.

Oct. 7 at 8:19 p.m.
Officers were called to the Wawa parking lot, 100 block of Saxer Avenue, for a report of a male subject chasing three juveniles and accusing them of stealing a wallet. There was no evidence that the juveniles stole a wallet, and the male, 35 years old from Springfield, will be charged with Disorderly Conduct and Harassment.
