Flat Tire Leads to Underage Drinking Charge
Police responded to a report of a disabled vehicle at West Avenue and Springview Lane.

A 20-year-old Upper Darby woman is facing charges after she got a flat tire in Springfield.
Springfield Police got a call about a disabled vehicle at the intersection of West Avenue and Springview Lane Saturday around 2 a.m.
Ptlm. Stephen Hurwitz responded to the call and arrived to find the vehicle with a flat right tire.

Further investigation showed that the operator smelled of burnt marijuana, according to the police report.
The vehicle was searched and a quantity of suspected marijuana was found in the ashtray, police say.

The woman was taken into custody and transported to the Springfield Police Station.
She was charged with Violations Of The Health & Safety Act, Public Drunkenness, and Underage Drinking. She was later released to a relative.
The incident is under investigation by Detective Robert Nutley.
