The proposed overlay will allow a mixture of commercial and residential buildings at the former Waterloo Gardens site.

The Easttown Township Planning Commission has scheduled for April 27 the first of what is anticipated to be several meetings regarding the approval of a zoning overlay for the section of town dubbed Devon Yard. Th especial public meeting will be held at the Hilltop House in Devon at 7 p.m. Monday.

According to the township website, a petition was submitted by Waterloo Devon, L.P., Urban Outfitters, Inc., and Anthropologie, Inc. to amend the zoning rules for the former Waterloo Gardens property and select adjacent properties located on the south side of Lancaster Avenue at Devon Boulevard.

Township manager Dan Fox said the land development plan is calling for a mixture of commercial properties and residential apartments. When the planning commission is finished with its review, it will make a recommendation to the board of supervisors, which will hold a public hearing before rendering a decision.
