Devon Bank Robber May Have Struck Before

The search is still on for a man who robbed a Citizens Bank Branch on January 24.

Easttown Police say the man who robbed the Citizens Bank branch in Devon on January 24 may have robbed another Main Line bank last August.

The man who, who brandished a gun during the robbery, is considered armed and dangerous and is still on the loose.

Easttown Police Detective Lt. Scott Albee says a man wearing similar clothing and with a similar description robbed a Wells Fargo Bank branch on Lancaster Avenue in Haverford on Aug. 9, 2011. In both the Devon and Haverford bank heists the robber wore ski goggles that covered most of his face.

A police report from the Haverford robbery says there had been a similar robbery at that bank in August 2010.

In the January 24 robbery in Devon, the robber escaped on foot with a bag full of cash. That bag also had a dye pack which exploded as the robber climbed a small hill behind the bank and a Cumberland Farms gas station/convenience store.

Police searched a train at the nearby Devon SEPTA station minutes after the robbery but did not find the suspect on board. He may have used a nearby car to escape the area.
