Easttown Sticks with Waste Management, Crowd Goes Wild
There will be an 4.5-percent increase in the cost of solid-waste hauling services, but one resident doesn't seem to mind at all.

The voice belonged to Devon resident Joyce McCullough, who said the garbage hauling decision was what drew her to the meeting.

The cost of the one-year extension of the solid-waste contract is $976,670, which reflects a 4.5-percent increase. The contract does not impact the township budget, as customers are billed directly.
Bernhard said that the contract includes the services of a route manager who responds to problems and monitors haulers' efficiency. He described the fee increase as a modest change in an inflationary sector.
