Fire at Local Auto Service Business

Fire departments from Malvern, West Chester, Paoli and Berwyn responded to a building fire in Malvern early Sunday morning. 

According information posted on the Berwyn Fire Company website West Chester assisted Malvern, Berwyn, Paoli fire departments in a building fire at Pete's Auto Service on East King Street in Malvern at approximately 12:56 a.m. Sunday morning.

The fire was placed under control within 30 minutes from the time of dispatch. Fire crews remained on scene for several hours performing salvage and overhaul operations.

The Chester County Fire Marshal's Office is working to determine the cause of the fire. Fire and smoke related damages to the two structures is estimated at $700,000.
