Fire And Emergency Services Meeting Set July 31 in Tredyffrin

Tredyffrin and Easttown officials are hosting a public meeting to discuss fire and emergency services in the two municipalities.

TREDYFFRIN/EASTTOWN — The Tredyffrin and Easttown supervisors invite the public to a meeting at 7 p.m. on July 31, to discuss the fire and emergency service in the two municipalities.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. in the Tredyffrin Township building, 1100 Duportail Road, Berwyn.

Robert Andrews, of Protection Development, Inc., San Antonio, will make recommendations on what is necessary for long-term fire and emergency services for the two municipalities.

Anderson is expected to provide a report on a full-time career fire and EMS system for the townships.

Paoli Fire Company

  • 8 fulltime
  • 19 parttime
  • Shifts 12 hours, 24 hours

Berwyn Fire Company

  • 10 fulltime
  • 37 parttime with six working fulltime shifts
  • Some 12-hour shifts, 24 hours

The plan follows reports of declining volunteer firefighters and emergency responders and an increase in call volume.
