Firefighters Respond to Berwyn Basement Fire

Early Monday morning, three fire companies confronted a basement fire on Leopard Road.

Firefighters from three stations responded to a basement fire on the 1300 block of South Leopard Road early Monday morning.

After being dispatched at 6:26 a.m., Berwyn Fire Company Engine 2-3 was the first to arrive on the scene, where smoke was visible, according to Berwyn Fire Company Assistant Chief Eamon Brazunas.

Firefighters from Paoli and Newtown Square arrived soon after, and the fire was brought under control at 6:45 a.m.

The Chester County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
