Heater Malfunction Fills Tredyffrin House With Smoke, Firefighters

Fire Chief says this type of problem is common at this time of year.

Nobody was hurt and there was no serious damage after a malfunctioning heater filled a Tredyffrin house with smoke Friday afternoon.

Firefighters from , Paoli, and were called to the house at 477 School House Lane in Tredyffrin around 1:20 p.m..

Berwyn Fire Company Chief Matt Norris told Patch the homeowner "was doing laundry when the smoke detectors went off and the house started filling with smoke."  Norris said the heater appeared to have been well-maintained and it wasn't immediately clear what caused the malfunction. The chief says there were no injuries and the homeowner did the right thing by not waiting to call 9-1-1.
