Kampf on Budget Opponents: 'It's Not Their Time'

Freshman Republican Warren Kampf delivers blunt message as the budget debate winds down and the political battle for 2012 heats up.

As debate over Pennsylvania's new $27 billion dollar 2012 budget was winding down, the political battle for 2012 was heating up.

Democrats were armed with their talking points about the budget posted prominently on their caucus website: "The Corbett-Republican budget contains dramatic cuts—balanced at the expense of the health, education and safety of Pennsylvania citizens," the Democrat website reads.

The banner headline on the democrat caucus website proclaims the Corbett-Republican budget is  "harsh on children, women, veterans, the elderly and the disabled—when PA has more than $752 MILLION in surplus that should be used to restore these painful cuts. This is a TAX-SHIFT budget, with you being forced to pick up the tab through local property tax hikes."

Speaking on the House floor before the vote Wednesday night, freshman Republican Warren Kampf (157th District) said he was doing what the voters sent him and the other freshmen Republicans to Harrisburg to do: cut spending and not raise taxes.

Kampf had a blunt message about opponents of the Republican buget: "It's not their time."
