New Easttown Township Manager Named

Long time Chester County resident and local government leader will be sworn in Monday night.

Easttown Township is getting a new Township Manager.

Dan Fox will be sworn in during the Easttown Board of Supervisors meeting Monday night at 7:30 p.m. (there is a Board work session at 7 p.m.) at the Easttown Municipal Building.

“Our incoming manager is a Chester County resident with 20 years of municipal government experience. In addition, he brings almost a decade of private sector finance experience to the township. He is a perfect fit for Easttown now and in the future. I will be introducing him to the staff tomorrow afternoon prior to his appointment at our business meeting at 7:30PM. We are all looking forward to having him join the Easttown Township management  team..”

According to a resume posted when he applied for a position in Satellite Beach, Florida last fall, Fox most recently served as Township Manager in New Garden Township, managing a budget of $16.5 million.  That is very similar to the size of Easttown's annual budget. He spent eight years as the Township Manager of Caln Township in Chester County and eight years as the Yeadon Borough Manager in Delaware County.

Fox replaces Mike Brown who resigned suddenly in February "to pursue other opportunities" after 13 months the job. Specifics about what exactly led up to the Board of Supervisors accepting his resignation remain a "personnel issue" that is shrouded in mystery.  In February, former long-time Easttown Township Manager Gene Williams was asked to come out of retirement briefly right after Brown left. Mimi Gleason, the former Tredyffrin Township Manager, has been serving as Interim Township Manager since March during the search that led to Fox's appointment.
