Part of Newtown Rd Closes Monday for 4 Months

PennDOT will be shutting down part of Newtown Road in Easttown for four months starting Monday.

Newtown Road in Easttown will be closed to traffic from Monday, April 2 until the end of July for bridge replacement construction south of Sugartown Road.

The signs went up last week warning drivers to expect closure and detours. The road will be closed around the clock to replace the two lane bridge over Darby Creek. Detours will be posted between Sugartown Road and Leopard Road.

J.D. Eckamn is the contractor on the $2 million PennDOT project which is scheduled to be completed by July 31.
