Police Log: Tredyffrin Township Arrests

Suspects were charged during October and November on charges of drunken driving, car theft, retail theft, and possessing an illegal weapon.

TREDYFFRIN, PA - Police arrested suspects in October and November for drunken driving, driving under the influence of illegal drugs, retail theft and other related charges in November.

Arrests:

  • Kathleen M. Hirst, 43, of Philadelphia is in Chester County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail on charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property. Police said Hirst stole $1,119.3 worth of merchandise from a retail store in the Paoli section of the township on Nov. 1. She was apprehended on Nov. 22.
  • Brandon D. Cahill, 32, of West Chester is free on $20,000 bail awaiting a preliminary hearing on a charge of receiving stolen property. Police said Cahill was driving a stolen U-Haul van on Nov. 1 in the Paoli section of Tredyffrin Township.
  • Marianne L. Wright, 30, of Philadelphia is free on bail awaiting disposition of her case in Chester County Court on a charge of vehicle theft and receiving stolen property. Police said Wright is accused of stealing a vehicle on Nov. 2 in the Devon section of Tredyffrin Township.
  • Brian M. Douglas, 49, of Philadelphia is free on $15,000 bail awaiting a preliminary hearing on charges of theft and receiving stolen property. Police said he removed $647.55 worth of merchandise from a retail establishment in the Paoli section of Tredyffrin Township without paying for the items.
  • Henry Galarza-Serrano, 41, of Philadelphia, PA, is free on bail awaiting a preliminary hearing on charges of retail theft. Police said Galarza-Serrano stole $362.93 worth of merchandise from a Paoli retail establishment in October without paying for the items.
  • Shawn M. Johnson, 31, of Philadelphia was held for court charges of threatening fellow employees with a weapon at a business in the Paoli section of Tredyffrin Township.

Five suspects were charged with driving under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol in November.

The legal limit to operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth is .08%. Individuals who refuse a test may be subjected to a license suspension of 12 months, which runs consecutively with any other suspensions.

The suspension will be 18 months if the driver has a prior refusal suspension, a prior drunken driving conviction, or any similar prior offense.
