Powerful Storm Cell Soaks Devon
Another afternoon of powerful but scattered storms rumbles through the Upper Main Line.
A powerful thunderstorm cell rumbled through the Upper Main Line Friday afternoon, temporarily suspending competition in the Brandywine Valley Summer Series Horse Show at the Devon Horse Show Grounds.
Riders, trainers and horses headed for the stables when the sudden downpour, lightning and thunder rumbled through. As is typical for this time of year the pop-up storm lasted less than half an hour. Crews immediately began mopping up the water that had ponded on Dixon Oval because the show must go on.
The BVSS continues through Monday night. Admission is free.
