Tredyffrin Police Chief Suspended, Report Says

The Chester County Daily Local News is reporting that Tredyffrin Township Police Superintendent Andrew Chambers has been suspended for four days without pay after an incident involving his son driving a township police vehicle on a training course.

According to the report which you can read by clicking here, Chambers' son, who has a learner's permit,  was driving the police vehicle on a closed training course with an instructor in the vehicle. The report says the incident happened on November 23 and that the teen lost control of the vehicle, running into a small tree causing minor damage to the front bumper and a minor injury to the instructor.

The Daily Local quotes a statement from Township Solicitor Vince Donohue saying the matter has been resolved. “The township is disappointed with Superintendent Chambers’ uncharacteristic lapse in judgment and is glad no one was seriously injured,” Donohue said. “Chambers has fully and openly admitted the facts and very much regrets his conduct,” The Daily Local quotes Donohue  as saying.
