Tredyffrin Twp Woman Announces Candidacy For PA’s 157th District
Local educator and business owner Sarah Marvin has received the endorsement of the Chester County Republican Committee

TREDYFFRIN TWP — Sarah Marvin, a small business owner and educator, announced her candidacy for representative in Pennsylvania House District 157.
PA House District 157 includes Tredyffrin, Schuylkill, Willstown townships, Chester County; and Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, and portions of the borough of Phoenixville.
The Republican Committee of Chester County has endorsed Marvin, a lifelong resident of the community.
“I decided to run for the legislature after speaking with many friends and neighbors who shared my frustration with our local and state government officials who consistently prioritize party politics over the interests of the people they are supposed to represent,” Marvin said.
“I’ve dedicated my life to helping and educating our young people. I want to ensure they have a bright future and that we have a government that truly works for the people through increased transparency and accountability.”
Marvin has served as an educator for more than 20 years, working with gifted, special needs, and at-risk students in small group instruction.

Marvin is concerned by the growing trend of schools moving away from the core focus of educating students in subject matters -- such as science, reading, writing, history and math -- while increasingly focusing on instilling values and belief systems, as well as political ideology.
“I am committed to ensuring that parents have a voice in their children’s education and will work to address deficiencies in our current system that too often takes a one-size fits-all approach to educating young people and fails to address the individual needs of students,” Marvin said. “I will work for our community and ensure we have someone in Harrisburg who is fighting for the values of local residents and not political party leaders.
“I’m going to bring a fresh perspective to Harrisburg, bring key issues to light, and work to make actual changes that improve the quality of life for Pennsylvanians. We don’t need lip service, we need action.”
Marvin has served on the board of the Conestoga Generals and Wayne Wildcats, a youth football and cheer organization for more than four years. She was also a longtime volunteer with her local Parent-Teacher Organization and is a deacon at her church.
She frequently opens her learning space to the community, hosting free homeschool clubs and various community workshops.
Marvin is a graduate of Conestoga High School and West Chester University. She and her husband reside in Tredyffrin Township with their four children.
Marvin's priorities include facilitating Pennsylvania's opportunity for energy independence and supporting local small businesses, which have experienced incredible turbulence as a result of the pandemic and forced closures.
She plans to work to address safety and crime issues in our communities, through adequate funding and resources for our police and firemen.
She is also committed to ensuring we have a health system that meets the needs of our residents, while addressing the regulations and bureaucracy that prevent people from getting the care they need.
