Trick or Treat as You Wish in TT and Easttown

Officials in both Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships say it's up to each resident or family  to make the decision on whether or not to trick or treat tonight.

Neither township is in a legal position to allow or prohibit trick or treating and neither wants to offer an official opinion.

The police chiefs in both townships say it should be at the parents' discretion and that all kids should use caution when walking around in the wake of debris that may be left after Hurricane Sandy. Both strongly suggest that a parent should accompany trick or treaters for the kids' safety.

Local neighborhood or civic associations may be organizations that would want to make voluntary plans for specific neighborhoods, but neither township is weighing in on whether or not to trick treat tonight.

Easttown and Tredyffrin both will have extra officers on patrol tonight. Easttown Police Chief David Obzud tells TE Patch that was scheduled before Sandy even became a threat and the extra manpower is just a contingency in case of emergencies in the township.
