Armed Man Robs Wayne Wawa

Police suspect the robber may live in the Upper Main Line area.

The search is on for an armed robber who robbed the  on Lancaster Ave. in Wayne early Wednesday morning.

Radnor police say the man was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white shoes when he entered the store armed with what may have been a box cutter. Radnor Police Sgt. Andy Block says the man banged on the counter to get the cashier's attention and calmly demanded all the cash in the store. Police say the clerk handed over the money and the man walked out.

Police say the man escaped on northbound Banbury way in a silver S.U.V. Investigators suspect he may live in the area because of the direction of the getaway vehicle.

Three employees and two customers were in the store at the time of the robbery. No one was injured.

Police are looking for a white man perhaps in his 30s who is about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call the Radnor Investigations Unit at 610-688-0503.
