Wednesday Night's Driving Forecast: Improving. Here's Info If You are Driving, Flying, or Going by Train

Pack patience and allow extra time if you're travelling for Thanksgiving on Wednesday.

If you watch TV news you've heard it a million (perhaps more) times. Wednesday is the busiest travel day of the year. While some news organizations couch it by saying one of the busiest travel days (Sunday might be worse) the bottom line is an awful lot of people are hitting the road Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Going by Car

If you're driving anywhere in the Mid-Atlantic region the outlook for the driving in the hours leading up to Thanksgiving is basically: rainy, but improving.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for rain to taper off later on Wednesday evening in the Tredyffrin-Easttown area.

If you're heading to upstate New York or the mountainous regions of New England, the NWS forecast say be prepared to hit snow. According to the weather service "A total 4 to 8 inches of snow, along with pockets of light freezing rain, is expected to fall by this afternoon across the higher elevations of upstate New York and across Vermont/New Hampshire into Maine, making travel difficult."
