What's for Dinner? Old Favorite is New Option

A Berwyn cafe has a new name and new dinner hours, but old favorites and familiar faces.

Pattymacs has been a popular Berwyn lunch and breakfast spot for years. is ushering in a new era for the restaurant that

Owners Emily and John Smith (who bought the restaurant from Patty McElaney last winter) are expanding the cafe to include dinners on Thursday and Friday nights. It's a familiar space with a new name and lots of new touches including new wall colors, a new ceiling and other nice interior design touches that give the cafe at 814 Lancaster Ave. in Berwyn a warmer feel.

It's a feel that matches the warm and friendly feel that has always been the hallmark of the restaurant, first under "Patty Mac" and now Emily and John Smith. The vibe is cheers without the beers in a welcoming atmosphere where everybdy knows your name by the end of your first visit. While EmJ's doesn't offer beer with dinner, it is a BYOB cafe for dinner and you can bring a bottle of wine with you.
