$1.1M Grant Will Connect Sidewalks In Upper Dublin Twp.
Upper Dublin Township officials said the final design and permitting for the two connections should begin in 2024 or early 2025.

UPPER DUBLIN TOWNSHIP, PA —The township has been awarded $1,139,179 in grant funds to complete two missing connections identified in its 2023 Open Space Plan Update.
Funding was provided by the federal Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) program.
The funds will be used for the construction of missing sidewalk connections along Farm Lane (from Melissa Drive to Loch Alsh Avenue) and Limekiln Pike (from Fulton Drive to Maple Glen Elementary School) as well as an overhead Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon within the Limekiln Pike School Zone for pedestrian access to Maple Glen Elementary School.

Final design and permitting for the two connections should begin in 2024 or early 2025.
The township’s proven capacity to implement projects promptly and the importance of these connections from a safety perspective were cited as considerations in being selected for the grant.

TASA provides funding for projects and activities defined as transportation alternatives, including
on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure projects for improving non-driver access to public transportation and enhanced mobility, community improvement activities, and environmental mitigation, trails that serve a transportation purpose, and safe routes to school projects.
