50-100 Gallons Of Diesel Fuel Spilled In Upper Dublin Twp.

UPPER DUBLIN TOWNSHIP, PA — A tractor-trailer spilled 50-100 gallons of diesel fuel after going off-road on Monday morning, township officials said.
Officials said that some fuel entered a storm sewer owned by PennDOT, but the spill was cleaned up effectively by the state Department of Environmental Protection, PennDOT, and emergency crews.
Loch Alsh Avenue was temporarily closed between Bethlehem Pike and Douglass Street to allow for safe and effective cleanup. The road has since reopened, officials said.

Upper Dublin United said the tractor-trailer went off-road at the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Loch Alsh Avenue, puncturing its fuel tank and releasing about 50-100 gallons of diesel fuel.
Environmental experts said the amount of fuel spilled was manageable, and no lasting environmental impacts are expected. There is no concern for local water systems, and residents do not need to take any action.
