HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The transformation of the property where trees were destroyed by a tornado in 2021 continues.

Anyone driving down Norristown Road through the Maple Glen Triangle can see the transformation daily as the remaining trees have vanished and houses now rise from the ground.

Construction crews continue to build more homes on the property behind the Key Bank, as landscaping has been put in place. Some houses have been completed and sold. Meanwhile, more homes are being built as the project calls for 53 townhomes on 14 acres.

On the other side of the Maple Glen Triangle in Upper Dublin Township, the land where the tornado wiped out tons of trees is starting to transform into townhomes as well.

Residents worry whether the already-congested Maple Glen Triangle intersection is going to be even more cluttered with both townhome projects.

The Maple Glen Triangle is where Horsham Township and Upper Dublin Township meet, separated by Welsh Road.

This is the area where traffic congests Norristown Road during the morning and evening rush hours, where gridlock and traffic occur, and where vehicles line up on Limekiln Road waiting for the traffic light to change colors.

Developers Bruce Goodman and Sal, Dominic, and Sam Paone of Paone Builders have modified plans since the project was first presented in June 2022.

Six acres will be preserved and reforested after trees were destroyed or damaged by the September 2021 tornado that swept through Horsham and Upper Dublin townships.
