UDPD: Dog Complaint, Fake ID, Tractor Trailer Accident

Police incident reports from Upper Dublin Township Police Department.

Vehicle Struck - On Sunday, July 22, at approximately 8:44 p.m., an officer responded to the area of 1600 Limekiln Pike for a report of a vehicle that had been struck by a golf ball. Upon arrival, the officer observed a green GMC Envoy on the southbound shoulder of Limekiln Pike, just past the entrance to Lulu Golf Course. The vehicle had numerous long cracks at the center area of the windshield, emanating from a small circular crack closer to the bottom-middle area of the windshield. The driver said after his vehicle was struck by the golf ball, he pulled his vehicle over and was approached by the golfer who apologized to him for striking the vehicle and provided him with his contact information.

 

Theft from Vehicle - On July 27, around 4:26 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Costa Deli, 907 Butler Pike, for a report of theft from a motor vehicle. The victim stated that he is a delivery driver from DiBruno Bros. And that he was making a delivery at Costa Deli when someone took things out of his unlocked truck. He said after making his delivery, he came back out to his truck and noticed that his Samsung Galaxy cell phone that was in a grey case was taken from the console, ad a blue Converse bag was also taken. Inside the bag was a navigation system. There was an employee that was sitting outside, but when the victim cam out of the store, the employee was inside. The employee was not on location when the officer was investigating.

Hit and Run - On Friday, July 27, at approximately 4:26 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the area of Pennsylvania Ave and Indiana Ave for the report of a Hit and Run that had just occurred. Upon the officer’s arrival, the victim stated he was driving westbound on Pennsylvania Ave. when a white Lexus SUV started to pull out of Indiana Ave and then stopped. The victim went around the white Lexus as it was partially sticking out into the driving lanes of traffic. As the victim drove past, the driver of the white Lexus SUV moved forward again, striking the victim’s car. The victim made a U-turn and followed the Lexus, flashing their headlights and beeping the horn to get their attention to stop. The Lexus pulled onto the turnpike and the victim ceased following.

Fake ID - On July 29 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Ryan James Woods, of Maple Glen, came to the UDPD Headquarters at the request of the police to give a statement about the fake ID in his possession. Police spoke with Woods at length about the ID and where he purchased it. Woods told police that he purchased the ID through a website that is based out of China and claims to sell the identifications as novelties. His purpose for purchasing the fake ID was to purchase alcohol. He said he used the ID between 7 and 10 times to purchase alcohol in the area, and when he used the fake ID, it was scanned every time and he was never denied sale. He was able to purchase alcohol at various stores.

 

Theft - On July 26, a resident came to the UDPD to report the theft of her wallet on Tuesday, July 24 while she was attending class at Full Circle IMA Academy. The victim said while she was in class, the wallet was in a locker, and contained $80 in cash.

 

Accident - On July 24, at approximately 10:46 p.m., an officer was flagged down by a tractor trailer operator, identified as Mark Wayne Hill, who was looking for a place to park his vehicles off the roadway. The officer advised Hill the best place for him to park in the area was the parking lot of Christ Lutheran Church. As Hill was pulling the trailer into the parking lot, his passenger side rear tire struck a metal guide post, causing it to partially fall over, and causing the tire to rupture.

 

Theft from Vehicle - On Monday, July 30 at approximately 8:32 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 3200 block of East Bruce Drive in Dresher for a report of theft. When the officer arrived, the victims stated that someone had entered the car and taken $45 cash and four to five gift cards from her wallet which was still in the glove box, with the glove box closed. NO force or damage was done to the car and victim thinks the vehicle may have been unlocked. Nothing else was found missing from the vehicle.

 

Dog Complaint - On Monday, July 30, at 8:19 a.m., an officer met with a victim at Upper Dublin Police Headquarters regarding a dog complaint. The victim reported that prior to coming to UDPD, the victim was walking in the area of Honey Run Rd. and Monroe Lane, where there was a male walking two “small, white, fluffy” dogs on retractable leashes. One of the dogs walked up to her and bit her on her right leg above her knee. She sustained broken skin and minor bleeding as a result of the dog bite. The victim stated she would be seeking medical attention for the bite. Officers completed the Montgomery County Health Department Animal Bite Report Form and faxed it to the County Health Department on July 31.

 

Theft from Vehicle - On July 31, a resident of Argyle Ave. in the Ambler section of the township, reported that his 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee had been entered overnight, between the hours of midnight and 7 a.m. He stated that he apparently forgot to lock his vehicle when it was parked in front of his residence on Argyle Ave. He stated an unknown actor entered the Jeep and found his wallet, remove $80 cash, and also took gift cards.

 

Public Drunkenness - On July 22, at 1:18 a.m., police were dispatched to the 100 block of Girard Ave for an unknown problem. The called repeatedly told the 911 operator to send police. Upon arrival, an officer was confronted by Benjamin Brown, who told UDPD officers that “The first thing you need to do is check the person at [unknown house number] on Girard Ave.” Brown reeked of alcohol, was slurring his words, was unsteady on his feet and more no explanation why police needed to check on the party at the 200 block of Girard Ave. Brown kept stating to check on that address. Officers then turned their attention to the party at the 200 block of Girard Ave, who was found inside the residence perfectly fine. Brown will be cited by mail for public drunkenness.
