Upper Dublin Parks & Recreation Department Gets 'Agency Of The Year' Award
The award came from the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society.
UPPER DUBLIN, PA — The Upper Dublin Township Parks and Recreation Department has won a statewide recognition honoring its longstanding work in the community.
The department won the 'Agency of the Year' Award from the Pennsylvania Recreation & Park Society, which says it "empowers recreation and park professionals and citizen advocates to enhance life-enriching services for all Pennsylvanians."
The honor came as part of the organization's 2022 'Good Job! Award' ceremony, in which various individuals and entities from across the commonwealth are recognized.

Upper Dublin Parks and Recreation's 'Agency of the Year' award is a recognition that is designed to honor "exemplary accomplishments in positioning parks and recreation as an essential public service with meaningful community impact," the Pennsylvania Recreation & Park Society stated in a description of the award on its website.
The winning agency, the group says, provides a "fresh perspective on significant parks and recreation issues, shows innovation and collaboration, and has demonstrated a high level of resourcefulness."

Earlier this week, State Rep. Todd Stephens, a Montgomery County Republican, stopped by the Upper Dublin Board of Commissioners regular meeting to present a citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to parks and recreation officials, acknowledging their hard work and the recent award.
The citation states, in part, that throughout its history, "Upper Dublin Parks & Recreation has made inestimable contributions to the welfare of society through a sense of fellowship and through its programs, which are designed to enhance the quality of life for all."
The township offered congratulatory words to the parks and recreation department on its Facebook page following the award recognition.
Upper Dublin Township is a suburban community in eastern Montgomery County that has just over 25,000 residents.
