Upper Dublin School District Ranked Among PA's Best: New Study

UPPER DUBLIN TOWNSHIP, PA — A new list has ranked the top school district in Pennsylvania, and the Upper Dublin School District was ranked as one of the best in Montgomery County.

The Pittsburgh Business Times recently published its 2025 School Guide, ranking the state's districts based on scores from three years of PSSA and Keystone Exams standardized tests.

With those scores in mind, the Upper Dublin School District was ranked 28th.

The placing was good enough for 4th in Montgomery County.

That ranking is worse than the 2024 ranking, which was No. 21st.

The top school district in Montgomery County was the Lower Merion School District at No. 3.

The Business Times analysis was strictly based on scores, and did not include other metrics sometimes used in similar school rankings, like AP scores, college outcomes, safety, culture and diversity, sports and clubs, and more.

While the analysis does provide one window in student performance, it is not a holistic consideration and comparison of every district.

Seven of Montgomery County's 23 districts ranked in the top 50 statewide, while 12 were in the top 100. Nearly 500 districts were surveyed on the list, which included nearly every single district statewide.

The top school on the list is Fox Chapel Area School District in Allegheny County.
