EASTERN Student to Cut and Style Hair, Nails to Help Fight Cancer

EASTERN student Brittney Maurer loves cosmetology and helping other people out. Now she will get to accomplish both of those things.

Maurer, as part of her senior project, chose to host a cosmetology clinic that will be open to the public on Saturday, March 23, at EASTERN’s Terwood Road campus, 3075 Terwood Road.

Her services include everything from a shampoo and blo-dry to hair highlights, nail service and skin care. All of the proceeds will benefit Abington Memorial Hospital’s Cancer Center. Anyone can schedule appointments between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

She chose Abington Memorial Hospital’s Cancer Center as the benefactor because her mother is currently undergoing treatments there, and she appreciates the doctors, nurses and staff for their diligent efforts in making this difficult experience as comfortable as possible for her mother. She recruited seven of her classmates to join her on March 23 to perform these services throughout the day.

“Cosmetology is something that I love to do, and I love helping people, and this gives me the opportunity to put them both together,” said Brittney.
