Letter to the Editor: UMHA Remembers Ed Momorella
The Upper Moreland Historical Association pays tribute to an invaluable member of both the organization and the Upper Moreland community.

has lost one of its founding members and a real driving force in the success of the organization during the past 15 years.
Ed was the Editor of the UMHA newsletter for many years, a vehicle that elicited many accolades from one end of the country to the other. It was by far the most professional newsletter of any organization in the surrounding area. Recipients who no longer live here were most appreciative of the nostalgia reflected in Ed’s newsletters.

Ed worked with Upper Moreland Township, Abington Township, the Southeastern Task Force and the U. S. Government and set the standard for excellence.
He was a former Assistant Fire Marshall of Upper Moreland Township for more than 20 years and served as president of the Willow Grove Fire Co., He was also a member of the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Association. For 36 years he was a Regional Inspector General of the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

He was also a former member of the Upper Moreland Historical Commission, a member of the Abington Police Athletic League and served on the Southeastern Pennsylvania Terrorism Task Force.
Ed was a unique, highly respected, public spirited individual and will be greatly missed by all who knew and worked with him.
