Residents Can Turn in Their Prescription Drugs at GIANT

The Upper Moreland Police Department will be participating in the Prescription Drug Take Back Day on April 27.

The Upper Moreland Police Department will be participating in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

These programs are run by the Drug Enforcement Administration and it will take place on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Residents can turn in any controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter medications at the Giant in Willow Grove, 315 N. York Road. Liquid products and creams in its containers will also be accepted.

The program is anonymous and people will be able to turn in their drugs without revealing their identity. The Police Department is asking residents to remove any personal information from the bottles or packages that contain pills and/or capsules.

No questions or request for identification will be made by the police.

Sharpies and syringes will not be accepted due to the potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens.
