Township Offers Summer Activities for Boys and Girls

Upper Moreland Township residents recently recieved the Township Newsletter, containing a pull-out section that highligts all of the township's summer offerings.

"Registrations are about average for this time of year," Pat Stasio, township Parks and Recereation director, said a the last Parks and Recreation committee meeting.

With over 40 programs for children and teen youth, Stasio said that registration is around 50-percent capacity. He said that some programs, including the township's supervised playground program, fill quickly, and advising residents not to wait unitl the last minute to sign up.

Stasio added that the township is willing to discuss payment options with parents or gaurdians for its various programs.

According to an annoucement made by the township Parks and Recereation Department, there is an abundance of activities for boys and girls this summer.

Upper Moreland Township Boys Sports Programs

• Paw Prints Sports Camps - The Paw Prints Sports Camps offers programs in Baseball and Football for boys entering grades 5 through 9. Paw Prints Boys Baseball Camp will run from June 25 through June 29 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Paw Prints Boys Football Camp will run from July 16 through July 20. The leaders of each camp are affiliated with the sports that they are instructing, either at the high school or club level. All are passionate about their sports and have developed a fun and exciting schedule of events for your child.

• UK Elite Soccer -  UK Elite Soccer program will be held from June 18 – 22 for ages 5 – 12.  This is an action-packed soccer program for those wanting to improve their technical skills and tactical knowledge.

• Impact Tri-Golf Camp - Impact Tri-Golf Camp will run from July 23 – 26 for ages 5 – 11.  This is a great opportunity for new and experienced junior golfers to develop skills and knowledge in this individual and creative sport.

• Got Game Basketball Camp - Got Game Basketball Camp will take place Aug. 13 – 16 for those entering grades 5 through 8. This is not your traditional basketball camp! Players learn the fundamentals of the game while on the court, not on the sideline. 

Upper Moreland Township Girls Sports Programs

Paw Prints Sports Camps - The Paw Prints Sports Camps offers a wide variety of fun programs for girls.

• Field Hockey Camp will run from June 18 through June 22, from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. 
• Junior Field Hockey Camp will run from July 18 - July 21.   
• Evening Lacrosse Camp runs from June 24 – June 29. 
• Softball Camp runs from July 9 – July 13. 
• Soccer Camp will run July 23 – July 27.
• Junior Evening Lacrosse Camp for those entering grades 1 – 3. 

Paw Prints Camps are offered to introduce and develop basic skills as well as game-play situations.  Our goal is for each player to improve their fundamental techniques and skills. The coaches are current athletes, as well as being club and school coaches.  Sign up for any camp by Friday, June 8 to receive an Early Bird Discount!
