Artists to Give Tamanend Park a Splash of Color
Nearly two dozen painters will display their works of art inside Tamanend Park's Carriage House as part of the annual art show on Saturday.
Watercolors and pastels and acrylics, oh my!
Tamanend Park will be teeming with artistic treasures, ranging from greeting cards and hand-painted silk scarves to prints, framed artwork and matted pieces painted by about 22 area artists, during Saturday's annual art show, according to Upper Southampton painter Linda Ritter.
The exhibit and sale is slated for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Carriage House and is being held in conjunction with–but separate from–the Tamanend Park flea market.

"This is just for us," Ritter said of the art show, which features works created by Just Painters, a group that meets and creates in the Ivyland studio of long-time art teacher Miriam Warfield. "Some people come for the herb sale and see us and come in ... Some people look for us every year."
Ritter said she and the rest of the area painters first began exhibiting in the sale in 2002.

And this year, as was the case in years past, Ritter said she expects plenty of foot traffic moving around the flea market, herb sale and art show.
"The park is full," she said. "It's such a busy day for the park."
