Wawa has opened several locations in the past year in Warrington, Newtown Township, and Pottstown, and reopened a New Hope location following renovations.

While new stores are opening in the suburbs, Wawa closed several locations in Center City Philadelphia since 2020, citing safety concerns. As of late 2024, nine Center City stores had closed, with eight of those closures happening since 2020.
