3 Dead In Mt. Lebanon Incident That Ends In Upper St. Clair
Three people died and two officers were wounded in the incident, police said.
MT. LEBANON, PA — A man killed his parents, got into a shootout with police officers, then led them on a chase that ended with the suspect's death early Thursday, police said.
Two officers were injured in the incident, including one from Dormont who was shot in the chest. That officer was wearing a bulletproof vest and is being treated at Mercy Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Mt. Lebanon Police Department Deputy Chief Jason Haberman said at an early morning news conference that a man called dispatchers from the 200 block of Gilkeson Road. The caller said his parents were dead and he wanted to surrender.

But when police arrived, the 25-year-old suspect, who has not been identified, began shooting at them. In addition to the Dormont officer, a Mt. Lebanon officer also was injured; he was treated and released at St. Clair Hospital.
The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle and led police along Route 19 before crashing near McLaughlin Run Road in Upper St. Clair. The car flipped and landed on its roof.

The suspect was found dead in the vehicle. Police said he had a gunshot wound but the cause of his death has not been officially determined.
The names of the suspect's parents have not been released.
Allegheny County police are continuing to investigate the incident.
