Thirteen USC Students Named Finalists in National Merit Scholarship Program
They are among an elite group of nearly 15,000 students nationwide.

The following Upper St. Clair High School students have been named finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program:

- Luke M KwiecinskiÂ
- Adam LucasÂ
- Owen MeimanÂ
- John M. RutkowskiÂ
- Jillian VlahÂ
- Jonathan Z. WangÂ
- Gaibo YanÂ
- Chenhao Yang
They are among an elite group of nearly 15,000 students nationwide to earn the honor and will now be included in the scholarship awards competition. The students are evaluated based on their academic record, information about the school's curricula and grading system, two sets of test scores, a written recommendation, information about the student's activities and leadership, and a personal essay.Â
