Who Should Be Next in Upper St. Clair's Halls of Fame?

Nominations are being accepted.

Upper St. Clair School District administration is seeking nominees for its next Upper St. Clair High School halls of fame class.

Each year, former students, staff members and/or volunteers from Upper St. Clair High School can be nominated for entry into the three halls of fame—Academics, Arts and Athletics.

There are certain guidelines for nomination.:

• CRITERIA FOR STUDENT INDUCTEES

A former student must meet the following criteria to be considered for the three halls of fame. The individual must be a graduate of Upper St. Clair High School and must be away from the high school for at least five years. The individual must have made a positive contribution during high school as well as significant achievements after leaving high school.

The students will be nominated by members of the high school staff, Upper St. Clair alumni or Upper St. Clair community. The nominees must earn a 75-percent vote of a quorum of the committee.

During and after high school, the student could have excelled in one or more of the following:

Academics Arts Athletics Valedictorian Service and/or Leadership Service and/or Leadership National Honor Society Band Award School Record Class Officer Chorus Award WPIAL Champion Activity Service and/or Leadership Orchestra Award PIAA Champion National Merit Recognition Art Award USC Athlete of the Year Student of the Year USC League of Arts Award Media Athlete Special Scholarship/Academic Honor Director's Award Multiple-Sport Athlete Citizenship Recognition Thespian Society Citizenship Collegiate Recognition Collegiate Recognition Post-Season Recognition Post-Graduate Recognition Post-Graduate Recognition Collegiate Recognition Professional Accomplishments Professional Accomplishments Professional Accomplishments Leadership in Field Contribution in Field National Recognition Contribution to Society Benefactor of the Arts

• CRITERIA FOR STAFF/VOLUNTEER INDUCTEES

A staff member or volunteer must meet the following criteria to be considered for the three halls of fame. The individual must no longer be employed by Upper St. Clair High School. The individual must have made a significant and positive contribution during his/her association with the high school.

The students will be nominated by members of the high school staff, Upper St. Clair alumni or Upper St. Clair community. The nominees must earn a 75-percent vote of a quorum of the committee.

The individual's association with the high school could have been as one or more of the following: administrator, teacher, activity adviser, coach, support staff member or school board member.

During his/her association with Upper St. Clair High School, the individual could have contributed in one or more of the following ways:

  • Gave Outstanding Service in His/Her Position
  • Made Impact on Students' Lives
  • Made Innovative Contributions
  • Initiated New Programs
  • Provided Leadership in the Development of Facilities, Curriculum, Programs, etc.
  • Earned Local, State and/or National Recognition
  • Represented the High School in Local and/or National Educational Groups
  • Published Work
