10 New Coronavirus Cases In Bucks Co. On Friday
It was the biggest one-day jump in the number of confirmed COVID-19 in Bucks since the outbreak began, officials said.
BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Ten people in Bucks County tested positive for the new coronavirus on Friday, bringing the county's total to 24, health officials said.
That's the biggest one-day jump in Bucks County numbers since the outbreak began. Officials say such an increase was to be expected as community spread of the virus kicks in and testing begins to become more widely available.
The 24 Bucks County cases are spread out among 12 municipalities, according to the Bucks County Department of Health.

"We are seeing a lot more community spread," said Dr. David Damsker, director of Bucks County's health department. "With additional testing we are going to continue to be seeing additional cases."
Six of the new patients had confirmed contact with others who have tested positive for COVID-19, Bucks officials said, while four were attributed to community spread, with the source of infection undetermined.
Two people, including one of Friday's new cases, have been hospitalized in Bucks County, according to officials. Both are elderly with underlying medical conditions, they said. One of them was expected to be kept overnight and released Saturday, while the other will remain hospitalized, Damsker said.
Bucks County has created a map showing the municipalities where cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed. It will be updated as new cases are reported.
Bucks County has had no deaths from the coronavirus. In Pennsylvania, a man in Northampton County died from the virus.
Damsker reiterated that the effects of social distancing measures being practiced over the past week to 10 days here will not be known for another week or two, given the incubation period of the virus.
Damsker continued to urge healthy residents to limit their social interaction and warned anyone who is sick to stay away from other people.
As of Friday, Pennsylvania had 303 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
