5 Warminster Nonprofits To Support This Holiday Season

With the giving season nearly here, Patch readers should check out some of these local non-profit groups while considering local donations.

WARMINSTER, PA — If you’re like many of your Warminster neighbors, you may spend a good part of the holiday season with your credit card in hand buying gifts for family and friends. Coming up soon is a chance to give back to the local community.

Giving Tuesday, which in 2024 falls on Dec. 3, is a day dedicated to supporting nonprofit and community groups. Since 2012, nonprofits worldwide have used the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to galvanize fundraising, rally volunteers and add momentum to their causes.

Maintaining funding is a constant challenge for many nonprofits that fill gaps and meet other needs in the Warminster area.

Here are five local nonprofits to consider getting behind on Giving Tuesday:

  1. Warminster Food Bank —The Warminster Food Bank is a 501c3 organization that provides food to people in need in the Bucks and Montgomery Counties. The Warminster Food Bank serves more than 650 families each month with food donated by individuals and businesses. Donations and volunteers are always welcome.
  2. Warminster Historical Society —The Warminster Historical Society is a non-profit organization focused on preserving and promoting history in the township and educating the community about it.
  3. Christ's Home —In continuous operation since 1903, Christ’s Home is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization founded as a non-denominational Christian ministry serving disadvantaged children and senior adults.
  4. Women's Animal Center —Women's Animal Center, America's First Animal Shelter, provides a variety of vital services to the pets and people in the Bucks County community including pet adoptions, a veterinary hospital, dog training, community programs, human education, and a pet food pantry for families in need.
  5. Hartsville Fire Company —The Hartsville Fire Company and the Warminster Township Fire Department are the two fire companies that serve township residents and assist with emergencies in surrounding communities.
