Baseball Is Back, Sixers Sinking: This Week In Philly Sports
The Philadelphia Phillies have opened spring training and everyone is still basking in the glow of the Eagles' Super Bowl victory and parade

PHILADELPHIA, PA —Luckily, fans are still savoring the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl victory and parade from last Friday.
Hopefully, those memories will be enough to get us to the start of the baseball season where we pin our hopes on the Philadelphia Phillies playing in and winning the World Series.
This city hasn't experienced two winners in one year —and we deserve it.

If anyone has been paying attention, the Philadelphia Flyers are awful again and the Sixers are even worse. So we need the Phillies to pick up the torch from the Birds and carry it to the finish line.

Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles Everywhere
If anything, the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl victory has given us a break from seeing Jason Kelce everywhere. Now we are seeing the Super Bowl champion players everywhere as they make appearances in the Philadelphia region following the parade last Friday.
General Manager Howie Roseman is appearing at the Oxford Valley Mall on Saturday. Saquon Barkley took a shift recently at Raising Cane's in Bensalem. Coach Nick Sirianni is pouring drinks at a South Jersey bar.
Philadelphia Phillies Start Spring Training Games
Spring is eternal and every baseball team believes they can win the World Series. Some have a stronger belief than others based on their roster. The Philadelphia Phillies have the talent but have suffered from a few years of playoff collapses when they should have gotten back to the big game. If Jeffrey Lurie can win titles, why can't Phillies Owner John Middleton? He's been demanding the trophy since signing Bryce Harper. We got to the World Series once. Now's the time for this team to step up. The pressure is on with time ticking away on Harper, JT Realmuto, Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, Aaron Nola, and company.
Sixers Sinking Once Again, No Shot At Playoffs
This has been a year to forget if you're a Sixers fan. Joel Embiid has been a disaster since before Game 1 with his knee issues and hardly played in any games this season. Paul George has been a free-agent disaster, showing that his tank is running on empty. Sixers ownership needs to shake things up and make some big changes and some bold moves to retool the roster. That might mean finding a way to get rid of Embiid and George and building around Tyrese Maxey.
Will the Philadelphia Flyers Ever Fly High Again?
Hockey got exciting on Thursday night. The USA played Canada in a Four Nations hockey festival created this year that was supposed to serve as an exhibition. But it built such fervor that this seemed like a Winter Olympics showdown. The Boston Garden rocked and fans were in a frenzy over hockey not seen for years. In an exciting game, Canada pulled it out. There was a time when it was exciting to watch the Philadelphia Flyers. Not anymore.
