WARMINSTER TOWNSHIP, PA — Bears have been spotted wandering around Lower Bucks County over the past month. Now one has been captured.
The Warminster Township Police Department worked with the Pennsylvania Game Commission to "peacefully apprehend" a bear in a backyard located in the 300 block of Olive Street on Saturday.

On Saturday, a juvenile bear enjoyed a smorgasbord of garbage Saturday night in the 200 block of Thompson Mill Road, Upper Makefield Township Police said. The bear was caught on surveillance camera dining from a resident’s trash can and having a feast.
“We know there have been numerous sightings of a black bear throughout the surrounding areas, and as to whether this is the same bear, we do not know,” Upper Makefield Police said. “But, we do know there is no reason to panic. We have had black bears on the mountain many times before, and they are a part of the wildlife here in Upper Makefield."
Bear sightings have been numerous this spring and summer in Bucks County, most recently along Swamp Road near the Wrightstown and Newtown Township border.
