PHILADELPHIA, PA —Fly Eagles Fly for real. The Birds took off for Brazil to play the first NFL game under the Friday Night Lights for the first time in decades. And if you haven't noticed, the Philadelphia Phillies are winning again as the Hunt for Red October goes full throttle.

Fly Eagles Fly...On The Road To Brazil

The Philadelphia Eagles took flight —a long 9-hour flight to Brazil to play the Green Bay Packers under the Friday Night Lights in the first NFL game played on this day of the week in decades.

The Birds begin their season, the second showcase for the NFL after the Kansas City Chiefs went toe-to-toe in beating the Baltimore Ravens to kick off the season on Thursday night in a win that went right down to the wire.

While the Birds are in Brazil, the NFL counts the contest as a home game for the Eagles, who will return home to honor Super Bowl hero Nick Foles on "Monday Night Football" against the Atlanta Falcons at the Linc. The bad news for NFL fans was that Friday night's game could only be viewed by paying for NBC's Peacock. Luckily, Philly fans got a local broadcast or we all would be bleeding red with anger instead of green.

Schwarber Goes Ballistic In Philadelphia Phillies Wins

Philadelphia Phillies star Kyle Schwarber always heats up during the summer, launching homer after homer over the fences at Citizens Bank Park and baseball stadiums all over the country.

But this past week, against the Toronto Blue Jays, Schwarber went ballistic.

There were "Schwarbombs" all over Toronto as the designated hitter/outfielder knocked three home runs out of the ballpark on Tuesday to pull off a comeback win. He followed that game up with another homer the next day. The four home runs raised his tally to 32 for the year going into Friday as the Philadelphia Phillies make the mad dash during the last month of the season for a playoff spot and a fight for another World Series opportunity.
