Wiest was fatally shot and found dead on the sidewalk along the 200 block of Moorehead Avenue. In an affidavit of probable cause, investigators said Dutkiewicz shot Wiest several times on the sidewalk.
Neighbors told police they heard a woman's loud scream, and, shortly afterwards, saw Dutkiewicz pull out of the driveway in his truck and drive away, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Wiest was found facedown on the sidewalk outside the home with gunshot wounds to her torso. She was taken to Lankenau Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The investigation found that the door to the victim’s residence, a few doors from where Wiest was found, was open, and there was blood found both inside her home and along the sidewalk leading to her body. Detectives recovered five projectiles.
